Loud From The Start

The Daniel Band formed in Toronto in 1979, rising out of the Bendale Bible Chapel coffeehouse scene and quickly making a name in the city's hard rock clubs — including finalist honours at Q107's Homegrown competition and shows at the legendary El Mocambo.

Across five studio albums — On Rock (1982), Straight Ahead (1983), Run from the Darkness (1984), Rise Up (1986), and Running Out of Time (1987) — they became pioneers of Christian hard rock, pairing muscular, melodic metal with lyrics rooted in genuine faith.

Founding members Tony Rossi and Dan McCabe still lead the charge, and in 2011 the band received the GMA Canada Lifetime Achievement Award for their pioneering influence. Now they're back on stage — and back in the studio — with the same energy that started it all.
